Two kilometres from Saint-Jean-d'Angély, set in the countryside and only 5 minutes from the A10 motorway, junction 34, Karen and Richard will welcome you to this lovely residence, with a charming independent house in the gardens, which was originally the bread oven house. There is a heated pool in the lovely gardens.

Newly renovated as a charming bed and breakfast, each room has been tastefully decorated and all have the original stone walls. The ground floor room of 36m² has the original bread oven and fireplace and the room on the first floor has all the original beams.
In addition to the Four à Pain house, there are 3 lovely new rooms above the barn overlooking the garden.

In September 2012, all rooms have been refurbished including new fitted Sisal carpets, in the interest of comfort and soundproofing.
Each room is new and spacious, with their own independent entrance and all rooms have a private shower room and wc, bathroom products, slippers, hair dryers, satellite television, wifi, armchairs and a kettle with tea making facilities.
The rooms have large comfortable new double beds, with one room having twin beds.

In front of the Four à Pain is a terrace with tables, chairs, sunloungers and parasols and there is other garden furniture dotted around the garden for your comfort.

Approached by a private drive with electric gates, set in the lovely walled garden of this old maison maitre with lavendar bushes lining the entrance, you will find safe and secure parking in the shade of the trees.

Breakfast of orange juice, tea, coffee or chocolate, croissants, mini patisserie and toast, jams and butter, cereals and yogurts can be served on the terrace or in the dinig room.

The river Boutonne is 200 meters from the back door, with plenty of fishing and lovely walks in the country.

For those guests who are house hunting or thinking of moving to France, Karen and Richard will gladly give them their advice and experience of the French legal system of purchasing a property. They have alot of experience and contacts and will help and guide wherever possible.

Saint-Jean-d'Angély is at the center of the Charente- Maritime. It is only 5 minutes from the main A10 autoroute, junction 34, separating Nantes/Poitiers to Bordeaux. There is a market every wednesday and Saturday, numerous cafes and restaurants and a large plan d'eau (water area) by the river with boating, fishing and kayaking.

To the West (45minutes) are the wonderful beaches of Royan, La Rochelle, Ile d'Oleron and Ile de Ré.
To the East (45minutes) is the beautiful old town of Angouleme.
To the South (20minutes) is Saintes with its numerous shops, the Charente river and restaurants and (30minutes) is Cognac with its vineyards castles and old town.
To the North (30minutes) is Niort, a lovely large old town, bustling with shops and restaurants and Futuroscope and Poitiers are a further 45 minutes.

follow the bypass directed to Poitiers - Angoulème

take the third exit directed Courcelles - CD 218-

Stay on this road for exactly 2 kms until you see the signpost "Courcelles" on the right hand side of the road.


Immediately as you enter the village of Courcelles,
take the first entrance on the left (with black gates) and our house is at the end of this private drive.
